Doll Works
Made between 2011 and 2013, Doll Works started with the artist finding her childhood collection of National Costume Dolls.
She started to photograph the dolls and arrange them in taxonomic groups. She began to collect dolls on eBay, trying to create a complete picture of the world’s people. This resulted in a number of works that use dolls to explore ideas of cultural appropriation and stereo typing, using the dolls as a sculptural material.
7 Billion and Rising
This large installation of dolls - in which the dolls create a landscape of mountains and atols - references population growth and questions colonialism and collections.
Flamenco Dolls
Sculptures made entirely from Flamenco Dolls

Doll Bricks
Referencing children’s building bricks and games this work seeks to question racial stereotyping in the manufacture of costume dolls and the ways in which we might group them. Each block is made of wood measuring 10cmx10cmx10cm
Photographic Works
Whilst making these works the artist documented every doll in her collection, here are a few examples of this archive.
